A strong MSc cybersecurity thesis topic is narrow, measurable and ethically possible. Broad ideas such as artificial intelligence in security, cloud attacks or malware detection need to be converted into a specific research question. The question should name the problem, the method and the evidence that will be used to evaluate the result.
Scope is the difference between an interesting idea and a completed thesis. Choose one environment, dataset, technique, control or threat model that can be studied within the available time.
